First Friday studio walks are the first Friday of each month hours noon - 9:00 pm, opening from 5 to 9pm. Studios at the Pendleton Art Center Rising Sun open at that time to the public allowing guests the opportunity to view creative art space and purchase one-of-a-kind artwork directly from the artist. Second Look Saturdays offer another opportunity to experience the Pendleton and its artists from 10am to 5pm.
 

 

RSSA Summer Art Camp will focus on instruction that builds fundamental skills in the visual arts and fosters creativity in both two and three dimensional art. Camp will include lots of fun! All classes are hands-on experiences with age appropiate creative problem solving

Our local proffessional instructors and interns will teach art and self expression through a program known as Progressive Skills Building. Classes include drawing, painting, pottery making and sculpture. Our camp administrator is Andrea Grimsley.

Summer programs in visual art
Class dates June 9 thru 12, 16 thru 19, and 23rd thru 26th. Programming will culminate with a student art exhibit on June 27th.


Cost: $25.00 per session
Multiple Week Discount: $25.00 first week, $5.00 off 2nd and 3rd weeks
Sibling Discount: $5.00 off each sibling attending during the same week

Class session A
Ages 5,6,7   Time 9:00 to 11:00

WEEK ONE June 9-12
Students will work on drawing skills with colored pencil and crayons,
Painting with finger paint and tempera to create life sized self portraits and learn color mixing.

WEEK TWO June 16-19
Students will work with clay, and will make sculptures and mobiles from found objects.

WEEK THREE June 23-26
Students will experiment with creating textures through simple printing techniques to create books, hats and puppets with paper.

 

Class Session B
Ages 8,9,10    Time 1:00 to 3:30

WEEK ONE June 9-12
Students will draw, paint and use collage to create a variety of books featuring their artworks.

WEEK TWO June 16-19
Students will sculpt with clay and recycled materials to create a variety of 3-D works of art.

WEEK THREE June 23-26
Students will explore a variety of painting and printing methods to create works of art.
